^{创 32:1} 雅各仍旧行路，　神的使者遇见他。 ^{创 32:2} 雅各看见他们就说：“这是　神的军兵。”于是给那地方起名叫玛哈念(就是“二军兵”的意思)。 ^{创 32:3} 雅各打发人先往西珥地去，就是以东地，见他哥哥以扫。 ^{创 32:4} 吩咐他们说：“你们对我主以扫说：‘你的仆人雅各这样说：我在拉班那里寄居，直到如今。 ^{创 32:5} 我有牛、驴、羊群、仆婢，现在打发人来报告我主，为要在你眼前蒙恩。’” ^{创 32:6} 所打发的人回到雅各那里说：“我们到了你哥哥以扫那里，他带着四百人，正迎着你来。” ^{创 32:7} 雅各就甚惧怕，而且愁烦，便把那与他同在的人口和羊群、牛群、骆驼，分作两队， ^{创 32:8} 说：“以扫若来击杀这一队，剩下的那一队还可以逃避。” ^{创 32:9} 雅各说：“耶和华我祖亚伯拉罕的　神，我父亲以撒的　神啊，你曾对我说：‘回你本地本族去，我要厚待你。’ ^{创 32:10} 你向仆人所施的一切慈爱和诚实，我一点也不配得；我先前只拿着我的杖过这约但河，如今我却成了两队了。 ^{创 32:11} 求你救我脱离我哥哥以扫的手，因为我怕他来杀我，连妻子带儿女一同杀了。 ^{创 32:12} 你曾说：‘我必定厚待你，使你的后裔如同海边的沙，多得不可胜数。’” ^{创 32:13} 当夜，雅各在那里住宿，就从他所有的物中拿礼物，要送给他哥哥以扫： ^{创 32:14} 母山羊二百只、公山羊二十只、母绵羊二百只、公绵羊二十只、 ^{创 32:15} 奶崽子的骆驼三十只、各带着崽子；母牛四十只、公牛十只，母驴二十匹，驴驹十匹。 ^{创 32:16} 每样各分一群，交在仆人手下，就对仆人说：“你们要在我前头过去，使群群相离，有空闲的地方。” ^{创 32:17} 又吩咐尽先走的说：“我哥哥以扫遇见你的时候，问你说：‘你是哪家的人？要往哪里去？你前头这些是谁的？’ ^{创 32:18} 你就说：‘是你仆人雅各的，是送给我主以扫的礼物。他自己也在我们后边。’” ^{创 32:19} 又吩咐第二、第三，和一切赶群畜的人说：“你们遇见以扫的时候，也要这样对他说； ^{创 32:20} 并且你们要说：‘你仆人雅各在我们后边。’”因雅各心里说：“我借着在我前头去的礼物解他的恨，然后再见他的面，或者他容纳我。” ^{创 32:21} 于是礼物先过去了；那夜，雅各在队中住宿。 ^{创 32:22} 他夜间起来，带着两个妻子，两个使女，并十一个儿子都过了雅博渡口。 ^{创 32:23} 先打发他们过河，又打发所有的都过去， ^{创 32:24} 只剩下雅各一人。有一个人来和他摔跤，直到黎明。 ^{创 32:25} 那人见自己胜不过他，就将他的大腿窝摸了一把，雅各的大腿窝正在摔跤的时候就扭了。 ^{创 32:26} 那人说：“天黎明了，容我去吧！”雅各说：“你不给我祝福，我就不容你去。” ^{创 32:27} 那人说：“你名叫什么？”他说：“我名叫雅各。” ^{创 32:28} 那人说：“你的名不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列；因为你与　神与人较力，都得了胜。” ^{创 32:29} 雅各问他说：“请将你的名告诉我。”那人说：“何必问我的名？”于是在那里给雅各祝福。 ^{创 32:30} 雅各便给那地方起名叫毗努伊勒(就是“　神之面”的意思)，意思说：“我面对面见了　神，我的性命仍得保全。” ^{创 32:31} 日头刚出来的时候，雅各经过毗努伊勒，他的大腿就瘸了。 ^{创 32:32} 故此，以色列人不吃大腿窝的筋，直到今日，因为那人摸了雅各大腿窝的筋。 ^{创 33:1} 雅各举目观看，见以扫来了，后头跟着四百人；他就把孩子们分开交给利亚、拉结和两个使女， ^{创 33:2} 并且叫两个使女和她们的孩子在前头，利亚和她的孩子在后头，拉结和约瑟在尽后头。 ^{创 33:3} 他自己在他们前头过去，一连七次俯伏在地，才就近他哥哥。 ^{创 33:4} 以扫跑来迎接他，将他抱住，又搂着他的颈项，与他亲嘴，两个人就哭了。 ^{创 33:5} 以扫举目看见妇人孩子，就说：“这些和你同行的是谁呢？”雅各说：“这些孩子是　神施恩给你仆人的。” ^{创 33:6} 于是两个使女和她们的孩子前来下拜。 ^{创 33:7} 利亚和她的孩子也前来下拜；随后约瑟和拉结也前来下拜。 ^{创 33:8} 以扫说：“我所遇见的这些群畜是什么意思呢？”雅各说：“是要在我主面前蒙恩的。” ^{创 33:9} 以扫说：“兄弟啊，我的已经够了，你的仍归你吧！” ^{创 33:10} 雅各说：“不然，我若在你眼前蒙恩，就求你从我手里收下这礼物，因为我见了你的面，如同见了　神的面，并且你容纳了我。 ^{创 33:11} 求你收下我带来给你的礼物，因为　神恩待我，使我充足。”雅各再三地求他，他才收下了。 ^{创 33:12} 以扫说：“我们可以起身前往，我在你前头走。” ^{创 33:13} 雅各对他说：“我主知道孩子们年幼娇嫩，牛羊也正在乳养的时候，若是催赶一天，群畜都必死了。 ^{创 33:14} 求我主在仆人前头走，我要量着在我面前群畜和孩子的力量，慢慢地前行，直走到西珥我主那里。” ^{创 33:15} 以扫说：“容我把跟随我的人留几个在你这里。”雅各说：“何必呢？只要在我主眼前蒙恩就是了。” ^{创 33:16} 于是以扫当日起行，回往西珥去了。 ^{创 33:17} 雅各就往疏割去，在那里为自己盖造房屋，又为牲畜搭棚；因此那地方名叫疏割(就是“棚”的意思)。 ^{创 33:18} 雅各从巴旦亚兰回来的时候，平平安安地到了迦南地的示剑城，在城东支搭帐棚。 ^{创 33:19} 就用一百块银子向示剑的父亲哈抹的子孙，买了支帐棚的那块地。 ^{创 33:20} 在那里筑了一座坛，起名叫伊利伊罗伊以色列(就是“　神以色列　神”的意思)。 (和合本 CUV)

^{Gen 32:1} And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. ^{Gen 32:2} And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God's host, and he called the name of that place Mahanaim. ^{Gen 32:3} And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom. ^{Gen 32:4} And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall ye speak unto my lord Esau; Thy servant Jacob saith thus, I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed there until now, ^{Gen 32:5} And I have oxen, and asses, flocks, and menservants, and womenservants, and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight. ^{Gen 32:6} And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to thy brother Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him. ^{Gen 32:7} Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed, and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands; ^{Gen 32:8} And said, If Esau come to the one company, and smite it, then the other company which is left shall escape. ^{Gen 32:9} And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee, ^{Gen 32:10} I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. ^{Gen 32:11} Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children. ^{Gen 32:12} And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude. ^{Gen 32:13} And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother; ^{Gen 32:14} Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams, ^{Gen 32:15} Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals. ^{Gen 32:16} And he delivered them into the hand of his servants, every drove by themselves; and said unto his servants, Pass over before me, and put a space betwixt drove and drove. ^{Gen 32:17} And he commanded the foremost, saying, When Esau my brother meeteth thee, and asketh thee, saying, Whose art thou? and whither goest thou? and whose are these before thee? ^{Gen 32:18} Then thou shalt say, They be thy servant Jacob's; it is a present sent unto my lord Esau, and, behold, also he is behind us. ^{Gen 32:19} And so commanded he the second, and the third, and all that followed the droves, saying, On this manner shall ye speak unto Esau, when ye find him. ^{Gen 32:20} And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me. ^{Gen 32:21} So went the present over before him, and himself lodged that night in the company. ^{Gen 32:22} And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. ^{Gen 32:23} And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. ^{Gen 32:24} And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. ^{Gen 32:25} And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. ^{Gen 32:26} And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. ^{Gen 32:27} And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. ^{Gen 32:28} And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel, for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. ^{Gen 32:29} And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. ^{Gen 32:30} And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. ^{Gen 32:31} And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh. ^{Gen 32:32} Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day, because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank. ^{Gen 33:1} And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids. ^{Gen 33:2} And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost. ^{Gen 33:3} And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. ^{Gen 33:4} And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him, and they wept. ^{Gen 33:5} And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant. ^{Gen 33:6} Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves. ^{Gen 33:7} And Leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves, and after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves. ^{Gen 33:8} And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord. ^{Gen 33:9} And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself. ^{Gen 33:10} And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand, for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me. ^{Gen 33:11} Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it. ^{Gen 33:12} And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee. ^{Gen 33:13} And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me, and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die. ^{Gen 33:14} Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant, and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir. ^{Gen 33:15} And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord. ^{Gen 33:16} So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir. ^{Gen 33:17} And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths for his cattle, therefore the name of the place is called Succoth. ^{Gen 33:18} And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padanaram; and pitched his tent before the city. ^{Gen 33:19} And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for an hundred pieces of money. ^{Gen 33:20} And he erected there an altar, and called it EleloheIsrael.
